KRONEN® Soil for geraniums, surfinias, balcony and other bedding plants is a specialized substrate designed especially for plants with increased nutritional requirements. It is an excellent substrate for all plants grown indoors, on balconies, terraces, flowerbeds, except for acid-loving plants. KRONEN® Soil for geraniums, surfinias, balcony and other bedding plants was produced on the basis of selected fractions of high peat and ECOFIBREX® (wood fiber additive). The substrate is airy and lightweight.

Available in packages: 20L, 50L

KRONEN® Soil for geraniums
peat-reduced soil

KRONEN® Soil for geraniums, surfinias and balcony plants is a high quality substrate with a fine formula. It is produced on the basis of high peat with the addition of Ecofibrex wood fibers. The appropriate combination of these two components made it possible to obtain a substrate with a light airy structure and good drainage. The structure of the substrate ensures even, healthy growth of the root ball.

ECOFIBREX® wood fibre is a natural, organic, ecological raw material from fast-renewable sources produced for horticultural purposes at Lasland sp. z o.o. It is an impurity-free, homogeneous material with high air capacity (45-65%) that improves drainage and enhances water distribution in the substrate. Plant-culture friendly material, improves soil structure, optimizes substrate properties, prevents weed growth, is slug and snail unfriendly, prevents soil from drying out and freezing. It does not contain tannins, it is suitable for use in BIO crops.

Humus naturally increases the fertility of the soil. To enrich the humus the substrate contains certified compost of purely vegetable origin. Humus is a natural source and storage of nutrients readily available to plants. It stores water and mineral salts. Thanks to its structure, it improves water and air conditions and protects nutrients against washing out. It increases the biological activity of the substrate.

KRONEN® Soil for geraniums, surfinias and balcony plants contains clay, which improves water and nutrient storage, and a moisturizing agent, which helps distribute water in the substrate. The increased dosage of multi-nutrient fertilizer meets the requirements of plants with higher nutrient needs.

In the substrates components are used in quantities and fractions according to vegetative requirements of particular plant groups.

Planting in containers:

Pour a small amount of soil into the bottom of the container, place the plant, top up with soil 2 cm below the edge of the pot, slightly compress, and water generously.

Repotting:

Young plants or plants in small containers should be repotted once a year, older plants every 2-3 years. Repot in early spring or after flowering, preferably to a larger container. The root ball should be carefully removed, gently cleaned from dead roots, dried and immersed for about 1 minute in water at room temperature. Place the plant in the container add soil. Water generously the first time.

Fertilization:

To fertilize balcony plants, vegetables and herbs in containers, we recommend using season-acting Balls KRONEN® Fertilizer for balcony and terrace plants. For garden plants and vegetables we recommend KRONEN® Organic-Mineral Fertilizer for vegetables and garden plants.

CAUTION: substrates containing wood fibres and compost should be very carefully fluffed up before use, as during production and transport they become more compacted.
