Potting:
Pour a small amount of soil on the bottom of the pot, place the plant, top up with soil 2 cm below the rim of the pot, slightly compact, and water generously.
Repotting:
Young plants or plants in small pots should be replanted once a year and older plants - every 2-3 years. Repot plants in early spring or after flowering, preferably into a larger pot. Remove the root ball carefully and gently remove dead roots; if the root ball is dry, immerse it for about 1 minute in water at room temperature. Place the plant in the container, add soil, water the first time generously.
Planting in the garden:
When planting plants in the garden, dig a hole twice the diameter of the root ball. Mix the soil from the hole with the KRONEN TERRA PRETA universal substrate at a 50/50 ratio. Fill 1/3rd of the hole with the mixture, place the plant, add the mixture, compact slightly, form a soil bank around the plant to prevent water from flowing away. Water generously.
Watering:
Plants growing in peat-free substrates should be watered with a small amount of water more often than plants growing in peat substrates. Water preferably with rainwater or tap water kept in a container for at least 24 hours.
Fertilization:
Start after 3 weeks with a fertilizer for green plants.
Note: before use, loosen the substrate well and moisten it, if necessary.
“TERRA PRETA do Indio” means “black land of the Indians” in Portuguese. It is a black, highly fertile soil from the Amazon river basin, which was formed thousands of years ago on infertile soils due to human activity.
