KRONEN® Substrate for the planting and cultivation of lawns is an excellent specialized substrate for the planting and cultivation of existing lawns. KRONEN® Substrate for planting and cultivating lawns is produced on the basis of lightly and heavily decomposed raised bog peat. This substrate contains an optimum dose of multicomponent fertilizer with micronutrients, necessary for proper plant vegetation. The fine texture of the product ensures proper contact between the seeds and the substrate, improving the quality and density of the grass plants.

Planting a new lawn:

A new lawn is best planted in early spring, when the soil still contains plenty of moisture, which promotes seed sprouting. During this period, young plants are not exposed to high temperatures and therefore to drying out. The first step is to clear the selected area of branches, stones, weeds and level it. Then spread a layer of about 5 cm of KRONEN® substrate for the planting and cultivation of lawns on such prepared soil. Dig to a depth of about 8-12 cm. Applied KRONEN® substrate on compacted soils will loosen the structure, and in permeable soils will increase its capacity and absorption ability. The ground prepared in this way is recommended to be compressed with a smooth roller. Before sowing the seeds, loosen the soil (for example, with a rake), to a depth of 2-3 cm. On such prepared surface, sow seeds of selected grasses and roll again. Water generously but gently. Plant growth will begin after about two weeks. After the young plants have taken root, start fertilizing with KRONEN® fertilizer for lawns or other fertilizer for grasses. Start the first mowing after rooting, when the stems reach a height of 8-10 cm. Mow when the grass is dry, and fertilize after mowing and watering generously. Last mowing (not too low), should be done in late autumn and after raking, verticulate. Do not allow the lawn to become weedy. On acidic soils with moss, use KRONEN® fertilizer for lawns with moss or another equivalent.

Lawn regrowth:

A lawn needs regeneration after a long period of use. For it to be fully successful, it is recommended to carry out aeration and verticulation of the lawn. Then the places where the grass has completely died out should be shallowly dug, the soil should be mixed with KRONEN® Substrate for the planting and cultivation of lawns, leveled and rolled. On the places prepared this way, sow grass seeds, roll again, water.
