Properties:
Garden bark is used to improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of soil.
On compacted soils, it loosens them, increases their permeability, improves air properties and provides organic matter. On light soils, it improves water storage capacity, activates biological processes and provides organic matter enrichment.
Garden bark reduces the drying out of soils, in winter it has an isolating function for overwintering plants, protecting the root system and the part above ground from frost. When subjected to biological processes, it gradually releases nutrients into the soil. It can also serve as a component for horticultural substrates.
Application rate and timing:
Improving soil structure Garden bark can be used in plots, gardens and flower beds.
To improve the properties when preparing the soil for planting in spring - autumn, spread a layer of the product evenly, 8-10 cm thick (80-100 l/m2), on the designated area, and then mix it into the soil to a depth of up to 20 cm with the help of gardening tools.
Mulching:
In protection against frost, drying and weed overgrowth under trees and shrubs in spring - autumn, spread a layer of garden bark, about 10 cm thick (about 100 l/m2), and leave it without mixing with the soil.
Component for horticultural substrates:
When preparing the substrate for growing plants in containers, add 10-30% of the volume of the product and mix thoroughly with the other components.
Safety precautions:
Use protective gloves when gardening. In case of accidental ingestion, seek medical advice.
