KRONEN® Soil for blueberries is a specially composed substrate for planting and transplanting of all varieties of blueberries. Due to its low pH (acid condition of the substrate), it can also successfully serve as a complete substrate for acid-loving plants such as: rhododendrons, azaleas, heather and others. Contains ECOFIBREX® (wood fiber additive).

Available in packages: 50L

Planting and transplanting:

Blueberry bushes are recommended to be planted in spring or autumn choosing sunny and wind-sheltered positions. For 2-3 year old seedlings, dig a hole 30 - 40 cm deep and 50 x 50 cm in size and fill with soil. When planting several shrubs, we prepare one longer site filled with substrate. Plant the shrubs at a spacing of 0,8 - 1,2 m and about 5 cm deeper than they grew in the container. When planting plants in spring, remember to water them regularly. Water is one of the most important factors in growing blueberries, especially after planting and in the first year of cultivation. Blueberries require constantly moist soil, but they do not tolerate prolonged flooding with water. During periods without rain, water the bushes at least once a week at a rate of 10 - 15 l/m2. Do not allow weeds to grow. For protection, the plant can be topped with KRONEN® Garden bark. For winter, it is recommended to use a cover of peat or sawdust to protect young shoots from frost.

Fertilization:

The first fertilization of blueberries begins 6 weeks after planting. Under plants planted earlier, the first dose of fertilizer is applied in early spring (late March early April), and the second dose is applied in the second half of June. For fertilization, we particularly recommend long-acting, organic-mineral, with increased potassium content KRONEN® Fertilizer for blueberries. This is a high-quality, granulated, dust-free fertilizer, easy to use, specially adapted to the requirements of blueberries.

CAUTION: substrates containing wood fibres and compost should be very carefully fluffed up before use, as during production and transport they become more compacted.
